Module Lead: Supervisor-led
This module focuses on conducting a structured literature review on a specific topic in Quantum Technologies. Students will be provided with a selection of key reference materials, such as research papers, review articles, and theses, to establish a foundation in the chosen area. They will then independently gather additional relevant literature, critically analyse the existing body of work, and synthesise their findings into a coherent review. As part of this process, students will learn how to use reference management software, such as Zotero, to organise citations efficiently and enhance their research workflow.
By the end of this module, you’ll be able to:
- conduct a structured literature search and identify key sources relevant to a specific topic in Quantum Technologies
- critically evaluate and synthesise information from multiple academic sources
- demonstrate an understanding of the historical and current developments in the chosen research area
- use reference management software to organise and cite research materials efficiently.
Types of assessments may include:
- a presentation (100%) – a 15-minute oral presentation (with slides) of the work you carried out during this module.
